NEW ORLEANS, La. (BRPROUD) – The roar of the crowd, the rhythm of the bands and the smell of good food filled the air as the Bayou Classic in New Orleans set the stage, with the HBCU Tailgate Tour shining a spotlight on the “Risk Less. Do More.” campaign. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinations.
Kenny Washington, a spokesperson for the tour, said this is important for communities disproportionately impacted by respiratory illnesses.
“This event is not just about football; it’s about building community resilience and empowering individuals with the health resources they need. It’s a unique opportunity to celebrate sports, music, culture and health, all while emphasizing the importance of vaccinations,” said Washington.
The HBCU Tailgate Tour made its stop at the Fan Fest outside the Caesars Superdome on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30, engaging attendees with vital health information, resources, and free vaccinations.
