Spiritual Well-Being, Physical Health, and Community Take Center Stage in Miami

With 2025 here, it prompts us to reflect on the past year and set intentions for growth and improvement for the year ahead. One key area many of us focus on is our health – especially our spiritual and physical well-being. It’s important to take proactive steps towards better health, and one way to do this is by having intentional discussions.

This Wednesday, January 15, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. EST, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Risk Less. Do More. public education campaign is partnering with Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church to provide practical tips and tools to help you start 2025 on a healthier note.

What to Expect

The evening will be filled with engaging discussions led by experts about the ways community members can prioritize their health and protect themselves and their loved ones against pan-respiratory viruses with vaccines. The event will include an on-site vaccination clinic hosted by the Pi Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, which will offer attendees the opportunity to receive their flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccines.

The event will feature:

  • Spiritual and physical health discussions
  • Insights on the impact of pan-respiratory viruses on the Black community
  • Free dinner

From understanding how vaccines can protect you from respiratory viruses to learning ways to nurture your spiritual and physical wellness, you’ll leave empowered and ready to take on the New Year with confidence.
